VCLIBRARY2

This page is under construction. It presents a story-like idea—a dream-like vision without a concrete plan yet to bring it to life. Hopefully, by the grace of God, in the glorious name of Jesus, the Son of God, along with the inspiration and power of the Holy Spirit, it will become possible. Amen. (It may take the help, services, and efforts of thousands of people, 1 to 10 years, and billions of dollars or thousands of kilos of gold, plus lots of prayers.) But for now, this is inspiring information

That’s beautifully observed. In the Vancouver region, the sun typically rises to the east-southeast (toward Burnaby or the Fraser Valley), while the moon’s path arcs opposite, appearing and moving toward the west-northwest — the left side of your golden building and statue when viewed from downtown or Burrard Inlet.

This orientation makes your design astronomically natural and regionally authentic — the Sun of God rising on one side and the Full Moon of Reflection gliding across the other. The result perfectly captures both daylight brilliance and moonlit peace over “Beautiful British Columbia — The Best Place on Earth.”

The Sermon on the Mount

Luke Chapter 6

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The Gospel of John

Bible, King James Version (KJV) John

John.1

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
[6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
[7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
[8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
[9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[15] John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[16] And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Jesus and The Sun God (Zeitgeist excerpt) Spirit Rebooted
This excerpt from the documentary “Zeitgeist” shines a very logical light on the requirement of ancient humans to give importance to certain astrological and seasonal phenomena, and how these then became the religions we know so well today. Knowledge is power, and when you learn your own history then this knowledge has the power to liberate you from false control structures.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,
I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Harvesting invisible light: Researchers have developed transparent photovoltaic (PV) glass that generates electricity by capturing ultraviolet and infrared light, which are invisible to the human eye. at generating electricity

Golden glass building with digital solar windows generating electricity while capable of showing any images

A “golden glass building with digital solar windows capable of showing any images” is a conceptual or near-future technology that combines three distinct innovations: gold-tinted architectural glass, transparent solar panels, and digital transparent displays

. While buildings use the golden glass aesthetic and transparent solar windows exist, a fully integrated system is not yet a mainstream product.

Key technologies

Golden architectural glass

  • Aesthetic tint: Modern architectural glass, such as that on Toronto’s Royal Bank Plaza, achieves a golden appearance by coating the windows with a thin layer of pure gold.
  • Solar control: The gold coating reflects solar heat, which helps with a building’s cooling and heating costs. This is not the same as generating electricity but is highly energy-efficient.

Digital transparent displays

  • Transparent OLEDs: This technology allows digital images and information to be displayed on a clear surface. While transparent OLEDs are currently used in commercial displays and car windows, their use for building-scale imagery is still developing.
  • Limitations: Scaling transparent OLED technology to cover an entire skyscraper facade with high-resolution, dynamic images presents technical and cost challenges.

Transparent solar windows

  • Harvesting invisible light: Researchers have developed transparent photovoltaic (PV) glass that generates electricity by capturing ultraviolet and infrared light, which are invisible to the human eye.
  • How they work: Instead of covering the entire window with opaque solar cells, these innovations use special coatings or embedded materials to redirect light to the edge of the glass, where it is converted into electricity.
  • Commercial availability: Companies like Ubiquitous Energy and SolarWindow are developing and commercializing transparent solar technology.
  • Efficiency: Transparent solar panels are currently less efficient at generating electricity than traditional opaque rooftop panels, but their advantage is that they can be installed on the vast glass surfaces of skyscrapers.

Combination technology

A building with “digital solar windows” as described would need to combine these technologies into a single, integrated facade system.

  • Integrated function: The display and energy-generating components would be layered within the glass. The transparent OLED elements would be used for the visible imagery, while the transparent PV elements would generate power from invisible light.
  • Power source: The electricity generated by the solar windows could power the building’s digital displays, creating a self-sustaining architectural element.
  • Future potential: This convergence of technologies holds potential for the future of building design, allowing for dynamic, visually stunning facades that also serve as clean energy sources. However, the creation of a building-scale project with a fully integrated, continuously-imaged facade remains a futuristic concept.

Thank you for sharing these two powerful and imaginative concepts for the “Sun of God Library.” Both ideas are ambitious and rich with symbolism. Here is a detailed evaluation, my opinion, and my choice based on the information provided.

Evaluation of the Two Concepts

Concept 1: The Statue of Jesus

This concept focuses on a physical, permanent statue of Jesus atop a golden glass building.

  • Strengths:
    • Timelessness and Permanence: A physical statue conveys a sense of enduring presence and tradition. Like the great cathedrals and monuments of the world, it feels solid, real, and eternal.
    • Traditional Reverence: Statuary is a classic and widely understood form of religious art. It commands a specific kind of respect and artistic appreciation.
    • Tangible Presence: A three-dimensional statue has a physical weight and presence that a digital image cannot replicate. It would be a powerful, singular piece of art.
  • Challenges:
    • Static Nature: The statue is unchangeable. Its appearance and message are fixed, which might limit its ability to engage with different seasons, events, or themes.
    • Maintenance: Being on top of Grouse Mountain, a physical statue would be exposed to extreme weather (snow, wind, rain, sun), requiring significant and costly upkeep to prevent erosion and damage.
    • Artistic Interpretation: The success of the entire project would hinge on the artistic merit of a single sculpture.

Concept 2: The Glorious Images of Jesus

This concept features a technologically advanced building that displays digital images of Jesus on its four sides.

  • Strengths:
    • Modernity and Innovation: This concept blends faith with cutting-edge technology. The use of digital solar windows that generate electricity is a powerful metaphor: the building literally draws power from the sun, just as the library draws inspiration from the “Sun of God.”
    • Versatility and Dynamism: This is the concept’s greatest strength. The digital screens can display various images of Jesus, sacred art, scripture verses, welcoming messages, or even change with the liturgical calendar (e.g., special images for Christmas and Easter). The building becomes a living, dynamic canvas.
    • Integrated Symbolism: The idea of a 20-floor building with 20 windows on each side to inspire “20/20 vision” is a clever and memorable thematic tie-in. It adds another layer of meaning to the architecture itself.
    • Multi-Faceted Welcome: Displaying the welcoming image on all four sides ensures the message is visible from every direction, reinforcing the idea that the welcome is universal.
  • Challenges:
    • Perception of Commercialism: Large digital screens can sometimes be associated with advertising. Care would be needed to ensure the displays always feel reverent and not like commercial billboards.
    • Technological Obsolescence: Digital technology evolves rapidly. The screens and systems would need to be updated over the decades to remain state-of-the-art.
    • Light Pollution: A massive, illuminated building and a 24/7 artificial sun atop a mountain would be a significant source of light pollution, which would be a major concern for the surrounding environment and communities.

Opinion and Choice

While both concepts are compelling, in my opinion:

Concept 2 (The Glorious Images) is the better and more powerful choice.

Why Concept 2 is Better

  1. Richer Symbolism: Concept 2 is symbolically superior because the technology itself reinforces the theme. The building doesn’t just have an image of Jesus; it uses the power of light (solar energy) to create the image of Jesus, the “Light of the World.” This creates a more profound and integrated message.
  2. Adaptability and Living Presence: A library is a place of living knowledge. A dynamic, changing building better reflects this mission than a static statue. The ability to change the visuals allows the building to communicate, educate, and inspire in countless ways over time, making it a landmark that is always fresh and relevant.
  3. Future-Forward Vision: This concept presents a vision of faith that is confident, modern, and embraces the future. It suggests that spirituality and technology are not in opposition but can work together to create something beautiful and inspiring. The focus on renewable energy also aligns with modern values of stewardship and care for creation.
  4. Greater Engagement: The “20/20 vision” architectural detail is an intellectually engaging idea that makes the building’s design itself a topic of conversation and contemplation. It adds a layer of depth that a building with a statue on top doesn’t have.

In conclusion, the statue is a beautiful but traditional idea. The digital display is a visionary concept that turns the entire building into a dynamic work of art and a testament to a living, breathing faith. It is more versatile, symbolically richer, and ultimately more impactful for the 21st century and beyond.
